About SufinKazu
Sharing the art and practice of photography across Hungary since 2023
Why We Started This Project
SufinKazu was born from a simple observation: Hungary is one of the most photogenic countries in Europe, yet it remains underrepresented in the photography community. While cities like Paris, Rome, and Barcelona dominate travel photography feeds, Budapest and the Hungarian countryside quietly offer equally compelling visual stories.
We started as a small group of photographers who kept returning to Hungary. Each trip revealed new locations, new light, and new perspectives that we wanted to share with others. What began as a personal project gradually evolved into this resource, a place where photographers of all levels can find practical, honest guidance for shooting in Hungary.
Our content is based on firsthand experience. We visit the locations we write about, we test the routes we recommend, and we share the images we capture along the way.
Our Values
Authenticity Over Perfection
We believe the best photography comes from genuine curiosity rather than chasing trends. Our guides encourage you to look beyond the popular viewpoints and find your own connection with Hungary's landscapes, architecture, and people.
Accessible Knowledge
Photography can feel intimidating, especially in unfamiliar territory. We write with clarity and practical detail so that whether you shoot on a phone or a professional mirrorless camera, you can benefit from what we share.
Respect for Heritage
Hungary's cultural sites, thermal baths, and rural villages are not just photo opportunities, they are living communities. We promote responsible photography that respects local customs, private property, and preservation guidelines.
Community Over Competition
Photography thrives when people share knowledge freely. We encourage readers to share their own discoveries, contribute location tips, and build connections with other photographers exploring Hungary.
From City Streets to Country Roads
Our content spans the full range of photography opportunities in Hungary. In Budapest, we cover street photography, architectural details, night photography along the Danube, and the unique atmosphere of the city's ruin bars and thermal baths.
Beyond the capital, we explore the wine regions around Eger and Tokaj, the sweeping grasslands of Hortobagy National Park, the historic towns of Pecs and Sopron, and the lakeside communities around Balaton.
We also track Hungary's photography scene, including gallery exhibitions, photo festivals, and the work of contemporary Hungarian photographers who are shaping how the country is seen through the lens today.
Have a Story to Share?
We welcome contributions from photographers who have explored Hungary. If you have a location recommendation, a tip, or a photo story, we would love to hear from you.
